MWAV/MW2E

System exclusive editors and sound library bank managers for Waldorf's Microwave and Microwave II/XT synthesizers.


The software requires at least macOS 11.
It is build as an Universal Binary and runs natively on both Apple silicon and Intel-based Macs.


A compatible version for macOS 10.10 is still available.
Also for MacOS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) separate 32-bit versions are available, but unsupported.

Each and every parameters can be edited, and a program bank manager is included with drag&drop support:

  • A sound bank can be opened, for instance "mwsset1.syx" (MWAV) or "fact2000-08.mid" (MW2E) and all sounds can be dumped to the Microwave afterwards.
  • A new sound library can also be set up.
  • Individual slots in the sound library can be initialized.
  • Sounds can be drag&dropped from the Sound Library to the Microwave.
  • Sounds can be drag&dropped from the Microwave to the Finder.
  • Sounds can be drag&dropped from the Finder to the Sound Library.
  • The Microwave table can be updated by selecting either "Request all sounds" or "Request Sound" (for the current selected row).
  • Double-clicking on a selected row opens a window for editing a Sound Program.
